Porcelain Veneers

Porcelain or dental veneers are a wonderful cosmetic treatment that, while simple, has the potential to completely revolutionize the appearance of your smile. Porcelain veneers are highly versatile and can be used to treat a vast diversity of aesthetic imperfections, whether they are localized to a single tooth, or need to be addressed in all of your teeth.

Dr. Gasser is regarded as one of Sun City’s premier dental clinics for porcelain veneers and we have seen patients presenting with a plethora of problems, including:

  • Cracked, damaged or chipped tooth/teeth
  • Tooth/teeth that have deep staining that cannot be addressed by teeth whitening alone
  • Teeth that have large gaps between them
  • Teeth that are uneven and don’t have a nice, clean line.

It is important to note that before Dr. Gasser will proceed with cosmetic treatment, he will first thoroughly examine your teeth and gums to ascertain the cause behind your flaw or imperfection. If a tooth is badly cracked, it might first require restoration before it can support a veneer. If a tooth is deeply discolored, it might be the consequence of decay or gum disease, in which case you will be required to undergo treatment for infection beforehand.

Your oral health always comes first!

Porcelain Veneers For Sun City Residents: The Procedure

The placement of porcelain veneers takes place in a quick, simple and painless procedure. First, however, you will be required to come in for a check-up and, if you are found to be a good candidate for veneers, to have a mold taken of your teeth. This will help our lab technicians craft custom-designed veneers for you to make your teeth look beautiful and also natural.

During your second appointment, Dr. Gasser will lightly file the front surfaces of your teeth: this will help the veneer adhere better once the special cement has been applied. It also makes space for the veneer so that it fits beautifully and looks natural. Once the veneer, which looks like a thin ceramic shell covering, has been applied to the surface of the tooth, the cement will be hardened using a special dental light.

When you are happy with the fit and feel and appearance of your “new tooth” or “new teeth” you will be free to return home with your gorgeous new smile!
