Dr. Gasser’s Response: “Dental implant placement is usually done with local anesthesia and, should you suffer from dental anxiety, with the use of IV or oral sedation, you won’t feel a thing. The comfort – both physical and psychological – of our patients is our absolute priority, so you can rest assured that your procedure will be painless and without anxiety. All procedures are done in our office and are almost always completed in a single surgical appointment.”
Dr. Gasser’s Response: “The discomfort you feel should be minor and can easily be managed with the help of pain control techniques. We may prescribe medication to alleviate any discomfort you may experience,” says Dr. Gasser.
Dr. Gasser’s Response: “The placement surgery itself usually takes between one to two hours, depending upon the location of the missing tooth/teeth and the number of implants required. You should also be able to receive your new teeth on the same day, although this may vary from case to case.”
Dr. Gasser’s Response: “You will receive specific dietary instructions that call for a soft diet for a period of time, depending upon your case. This usually consists of mashed vegetables, fruit smoothies, yogurt and other soft foods. Please note that it is imperative you follow these instructions carefully as they will provide your new implants with the best possible chance of healing.”
Dr. Gasser’s Response: “The entire process involved in getting new teeth usually takes from three to nine months, depending on your particular treatment plan. The placement procedure itself usually only takes a single day, but from your initial consultation and treatment planning to your recovery period and follow-up appointment, is usually a period of a few months. In some cases, as demonstrated with the “All on 4″ dental implant procedure, the patient has permanent teeth inserted the same day as the implants go into place,” explains Arizona implant dentist, Dr. Gasser.
Dr. Gasser’s Response: “Home care for your implants consists of thorough brushing and flossing, just like you would care for your natural teeth. Regular dental check-ups and professional cleanings are required for long-term health and success.”
Dr. Gasser’s Response: “If your body accepts the implant and if cared for properly, it should last many years and even decades. Many dental implant patients in Arizona have had their new teeth in place for more than 30 years!”
Dr. Gasser’s Response: “We will remove the failed implant and allow the site to heal. Once this has occurred, another implant will be placed. What’s important here is that you seek prompt attention should you experience any problems or difficulties while your implant is healing. It’s also crucial that you adhere to our instructions for post-operative care and eating,” says Dr. Gasser.
Dr. Gasser’s Response: “Unfortunately, dental implants themselves are not covered by most medical insurance plans in Arizona, although we will review your plan and confirm this with you during your appointment with us.
Dental insurance DOES typically cover some portion of dental implant work, but the amount of coverage varies tremendously depending on your particular contract. What we wish all our patients to know (those with medical and/or dental insurance) is that we will sit down with you and scrutinize your plan closely so that we can glean as much support as possible for your procedure. In other words, we will help you gain maximum benefit from your medical and/or dental insurance.
Our dental office also works closely with several medical financing companies that offer payment plans tailored to suit your budget.”
